Skanka, a construction and development company based in Sweden, has won a $650 million construction contract for the development of a new road in the county of Hedmark, eastern Norway.
The other competitors in the competition were Stamveg AS (Veidekke/Sundt) and Strabag/Acciona.
The RV 3/RV 25 Løten-Elverum project contract is the biggest road contract in Norway’s history, according to Ståle Rød, CEO of Skanka.
This is the first OPS contract in the transport sector for the firm in almost 10 years. Skanska is responsible for building, operating and maintaining the route for 20 years.
Skanka plans to sign the contract at the end of May.
