Sempra Energy anticipates sale of Chilean businesses by late June

Sempra Energy is planning to complete the sale of its Chilean businesses to State Grid International Development Limited (SGID) by June 24.

In a statement released June 9, the companies said they are both committed to completing the transaction, which includes Sempra’s 100 percent stake in Chilquinta Energía S.A. (Chilquinta Energía), at the end of the month. Chilquinta Energía is the third-largest distributor of electricity in Chile.

In addition to Chilquinta Energía, Sempra Energy also intends to sell a 100 percent interest in Tecnored S.A., which provides electric construction and infrastructure services to Chilquinta Energía and third parties, and its 100 percent ownership of Eletrans S.A., which owns, constructs, operates and maintains power transmission facilities.
