by Kali Persall

Sempra Energy has completed the previously announced sale of its Chilean businesses to China’s State Grid International Development Ltd. (SGID), generating around $2.23 billion in total cash proceeds, the company said today.

The divestment includes Sempra Energy’s 100 percent stake in Chilquinta Energía S.A., the third-largest distributor of electricity in Chile.
