At its board meeting on Feb. 25, the San Mateo County (Calif.) Employees Retirement Association (SamCERA) approved a $30 million commitment to the Brookfield Super Core Infrastructure fund, managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
The investment was made as part of SamCERA’s private real asset composite within the inflation-hedge portfolio.
As of August 2019, the open-end fund had raised $1.6 billion in capital. Brookfield Super Core Infrastructure fund is targeting investments in the utilities, telecommunications, renewable energy and transportation sectors in North America, Europe, South America and Australia.
