The Federated City Employees’ Retirement System of San Jose (Calif.) has committed $3 million to the GIP IV fund, managed by Global Infrastructure Partners.

The core and core-plus fund is looking to close on $20 billion, which it will invest in energy, ports, transportation and wastewater infrastructure assets.

Last week, another San Jose–based pension fund, the San Jose Police & Fire Department Retirement Plan, also invested $6 million in the fund.

GIP IV has raised more than $13.5 billion to date.
