San Diego City Employees’ contributes $120m to Brookfield, KKR infra funds

by Kali Persall

The San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System (SDCERS) has approved $120 million of infrastructure commitments to funds managed by Brookfield and KKR.

On Sept. 12, the pension fund voted to invest $60 million each in the Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners (BSIP) fund and the KKR Diversified Core Infrastructure Fund.

BSIP is an open-end fund that targets a portfolio of high-quality, core infrastructure assets located primarily in North America, Western Europe and Australia. BSIP’s portfolio is currently at $10.5 billion, according to a meeting document.

KKR Diversified Core Infrastructure Fund seeks to invest in core infrastructure assets that support the delivery of essential services and evolving needs of society. It is diversified across the United States and European countries, primarily, with some exposure in Australia and other regions. A meeting document states the fund had collected $10.5 billion of capital commitments as of July 24.
