The $14.5 billion Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) committed $100 million to infrastructure during the month of July. According to a report of investment activity for the month, the pension fund invested $50 million each in the Aberdeen Global Sustainable Infrastructure Partners IV, managed by Aberdeen Investments, and KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V, managed by KKR & Co.
Aberdeen Global Sustainable Infrastructure Partners IV has a fund size of $500 million, and KKR Global Infrastructure Investors V is targeting $20 billion, according to the SCERS report. Both funds represent new investments for the pension fund.
In related news, on Aug. 12, SCERS reported a 10.8 percent total fund return for the fiscal year ending June 30, net of fees, exceeding the system’s policy index return of 9.9 percent.
