The Sacramento County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System (SCERS) has made a $50 million commitment to the Harrison Street Social Infrastructure Fund on behalf of its real assets portfolio.
The open-end fund managed by Harrison Street Real Estate Capital had a fund size of $1.2 billion, according to a report of investment activity for the months of June and July.
Opened to investors in June 2018, Harrison Street Social Infrastructure Fund was created to service universities, health systems and government users, targeting social infrastructure investments throughout the United States. The fund focuses on highly structured assets within these segments, supported by long-term contractual arrangements that produce consistent financial performance across economic cycles.
