A new report authored by JLL cautions the lack of urgency and connectivity within and between U.K. cities is causing transport infrastructure in the United Kingdom to lag behind cities in continental Europe and North America.
The paper was based on a detailed study of rapid-transit systems in cities across Europe and in North America.
Jointly commissioned by London Property Alliance and Sheffield Property Association — which together represent more than 500 major property companies across Central London and South Yorkshire — the report outlines a 10-point plan addressed to the U.K. government. Some of the points address politics and ambition, public-private partnerships, innovative funding, and strategic planning.
