by Andrea Zander

The Government of Queensland in Australia has signed construction contracts with Pulse to deliver the A$5.4 billion ($3.8 billion) Cross River Rail project in Brisbane.

Pulse is a consortium comprising CIMIC Group companies, Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors and UGL. International companies DIF, BAM and Ghella also are part of the consortium.

Cross River Rail is Southeast Queensland’s largest infrastructure project, with the consortium delivering the design, build, finance and maintenance of a new 10.2-kilometer (6.34-mile) rail line connecting the north and south of Brisbane, including twin 5.9-kilometer (3.67-mile) tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD.

Construction works are expected to be completed by 2024.
