QIC has announced plans to partner with EDP, through EDP Renewables Australia (EDPR Australia), to deliver a solar and storage project in Queensland.
This agreement marks EDP’s first project in Australia and represents a significant step toward a potential long-term partnership between QIC and EDP to accelerate the development and investment of large-scale renewable-energy projects across the continent.
“We have long recognized that collaboration between institutional investors, infrastructure managers and developers is central to realizing opportunities across the energy value chain,” said Ross Israel, head of global infrastructure at QIC.
The agreement on the heels of EDP signing an exclusivity agreement on the Punchs Creek Renewable Energy Project in Queensland’s Toowoomba region.
