Power-to-X D&G (PtX Development Fund), a vehicle set up by the German Federal Ministry and KfW to provide non-reimbursable grants to industrial-scale projects at various stages along the green hydrogen value chain, has approved its second grant and closed its first call for expressions of interest.
The PtX Development Fund, initiated by the BMZ and endowed with €270 million ($281 million), is part of KfW’s PtX Platform for promoting hydrogen projects in the global South.
Hydrojeel, a green-hydrogen business created by INNOVX, will receive €30 million ($31 million) for the Jorf Hydrogen Platform, located in the coastal regions of the Kingdom of Morocco. KGAL Investment Management, the fund manager mandated by KfW, reviewed a total of 98 expressions of interest from seven countries before selecting Hydrojeel. The first call for expression of interest resulted in grants totaling €60 million ($63 million).
