PSERS contributes $300m to Brookfield fund

The $72.5 billion Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) has slated $300 million for the Brookfield Global Transition Fund (BGTF).

Brookfield Asset Management completed an initial closing at $7 billion for the fund in July, against its hard cap of $12 billion. The fund will focus on scaling clean energy and investing to catalyze the transformation of carbon-intensive businesses to achieve alignment with the Paris Agreement.

It is the largest vehicle focused on the global transition to a net-zero economy.
