Proximity Data Centres acquires facility in Swindon

by Kali Persall

Proximity Data Centres has acquired an 89,000-square-foot data center facility in Swindon, England.

The data facility, known as Edge 7, benefits from 7 megawatts of power availability, with the ability to expand up to 14 megawatts. As a certified tier 3 data center, Edge 7 has a wide range of connectivity providers and the site benefits from multiple points of entry from fiber providers.

Proximity said the facility is ideally positioned to serve businesses near the M4 corridor, with easy access to the congested data center conurbations of Slough and West London. The facility is close to the major R&D hub at Harwell, which houses multiple research organizations in biotech, genome and spacetech.
