Proportion of retail, high-net-worth investors in private markets expected to triple in coming years

Wealth managers and independent financial advisers are expecting to see a surge of capital inflows into private market funds from retail and high-net-worth investors, according to new research from Wealth Club, a U.K. non-advised investment service for high-net-worth individuals.

The study was carried out among 100 U.K.-based wealth managers and independent financial advisers (IFAs) responsible for ÂŁ332.7 billion ($446 billion) of assets under management. Of these, 4 percent report that more than half of their clients now hold private market exposure. The majority (52 percent) stated that between 10 percent and 25 percent of their clients currently invest in private markets.
