Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), one of the nation’s 20 largest school districts, has launched the Phase II procurement process for its Blueprint Schools project in Prince George County, Md.
In 2021, PGCPS became the first K-12 school system in the United States to utilize a public-private partnership (P3) to transform its school system. The P3 for Blueprint Schools Phase II includes design, construction, financing and maintenance of six schools for PGCPS.
With the support of Angela Alsobrooks, county executive, county council and county government, PGCPS will invest $25 million each year in school construction funds for the next 30 years alongside the state of Maryland’s contribution of $25 million annually.
JLL and SXM Strategies served as the lead consultant and financial adviser for the procurement process.
