Permanent board appointed for the U.K. Infrastructure Bank

Bridget Rosewell, Tania Songini, Marianne Økland and Nigel Topping will be the first set of permanent nonexecutive directors on the board of the U.K. Infrastructure Bank (UKIB).

The UKIB, which was launched at its headquarters in Leeds in June 2021, is tasked with accelerating investment into ambitious infrastructure projects, cutting emissions and leveling up across the United Kingdom.

Since its launch, the infrastructure bank has completed seven deals, including financing the United Kingdom’s largest solar farm in south Wales, investing £100 million (€118 million/$125 million) to provide high-capacity broadband to around 500,000 properties in hard-to-reach U.K. premises, and a further £50 million (€59 million/$63 million) to improve digital connectivity for rural homes and businesses across Northern Ireland.
