by Kali Persall

The $76.5 billion Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) has approved two commitments to private infrastructure funds managed by Blackstone and Peppertree Capital Management.

The pension fund allocated €200 million ($222 million) to Blackstone Infrastructure Partners Europe and $100 million to Peppertree Capital Fund X, according to a recent investment report.

Blackstone is an active investor across sectors, including energy-transition infrastructure, transportation, digital infrastructure, and water and waste. The firm has $49 billion of assets under management in infrastructure. Blackstone Infrastructure Partners Europe is a core and core-plus, open-end infrastructure fund. The fund is seeking to raise up to €2 billion ($2.2 billion) initially to invest in European infrastructure.

Peppertree Capital Management is focused on investing in growing communication infrastructure companies, both in the United States and internationally.
