Partners Group has raised $2.5 billion for its Direct Infrastructure 2020 fund, advancing the vehicle halfway towards its $5 billion fundraising target.
IREI understands that institutional investors contributed to the capital raise, which is shaping up to be the largest fund that Partners Group has raised, to date.
The vehicle is expected to be open for the better part of 2021, and sources with knowledge of the matter said the fundraise is on schedule. The fund held an initial close in July 2020 with $2 billion in capital commitments.
Partners Group Direct Infrastructure 2020 will have three target areas of focus, including net-zero carbon, social infrastructure and the densification of digitization infrastructure. The fund already has secured three seed assets and the firm has a number of transactions in the pipeline, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.
