Pacific Green Energy Storage to acquire battery energy storage development from Tupa Energy

by Kali Persall

Pacific Green Energy Storage (PGES) is planning to acquire a 249-megawatt battery energy storage (BESS) development in England from Tupa Energy.

The BESS, known as Sheaf Energy Ltd., is the next phase of the 1,100-megawatt agreement that PGES entered into with Tupa in March. Earlier this year, PGES acquired the 99.8-megawatt Richborough Energy Park Ltd. BESS development as part of that agreement.

PGES and Tupa have a balance of 750 megawatts, which are expected to be operational in 2025.
