Overwatch Capital and Idemitsu Kosan have forged a strategic partnership to support the development of next-generation, energy-resilient artificial intelligence (AI) data centers across 10 U.S. states.
The collaboration includes an investment by Idemitsu into Overwatch Capital and the launch of Idemitsu’s nationwide natural gas supply operations in the United States. Idemitsu will supply natural gas to on-site power generation systems capable of providing up to 1 gigawatt of natural gas to support AI-driven data centers. Idemitsu also will explore additional energy services for data centers, such as immersion-cooling technologies, diesel supply for backup systems and potential deployment of battery energy storage solutions.
