Opdenergy closes $227m financing for 371MW of renewables in Chile

Opdenergy has closed $227 million in financing for its operating renewable-energy portfolio in Chile.

The financing is linked to a diversified portfolio of solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS) assets, including the 104 megawatts peak Sol de Los Andes Solar plant and the 90-megawatt/513-megawatt-hour Sol de los Andes BESS located in the Atacama region, the 50-megawatt La Estrella Wind farm in the O'Higgins region and a 17-megawatt solar portfolio located in the Valparaiso region.

Opdenergy is a global independent power producer with 2.5 gigawatts in operation across Europe, the United States and Latin America. Opdenergy Chile began operations in 2014 and has a strong presence in the country’s energy sector. In addition to these 371 megawatts in operation, Opdenergy has another multi-technology portfolio of 748 megawatts ready to start construction throughout the next 12 months.
