Oman has awarded $20 billion worth of projects for green hydrogen production in a first tender round, according to Renewables Now.

The three green hydrogen production projects will be built across 370.7 square miles in central Oman.

The Amnah consortium, which includes Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Blue Power Partners and Al Khadra Partners, won the first agreement for block Z1-01. BP Oman emerged as the winner for block Z1-03, and a consortium of Green Energy Oman, Oman Shell, OQ, EnerTech, Intercontinental Energy and Golden Wellspring Wealth for Trading, was selected for the development of Block Z1-04.

The second round of the tender, which will award two- to- four blocks in Dhofar, will be launched in June.
