Octopus Energy Generation is backing Lintas Green Energy, a fast-growing German green-energy developer, through its Sky fund. Octopus is acquiring a 50 percent stake of Lintas for an undisclosed amount.
In November 2023, Octopus’ Sky fund had surpassed the £1 billion ($1.3 billion) mark on its way toward its target of £3 billion ($3.8 billion) by 2025. The fund is investing in a diversified portfolio of energy-transition projects.
The investment in Lintas will help build new wind and solar farms, targeting 1 gigawatt by 2030, which is enough clean energy to power 370,000 German homes. Lintas already has built green energy projects in areas such as Lower Saxony, a German state that last year covered 100 percent of its electricity demand from its own renewable generation for the first time.
