NV Energy has issued an RFP to add new renewable-energy projects to its portfolio.
The RFP seeks technology projects for solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, wind, biomass and biogas that are at least 20 megawatts and compliant with Nevada's existing renewable-portfolio standards.
NV Energy also will consider proposals that include energy-storage systems integrated with renewable-energy resources. Projects will be evaluated on several factors, including the economic benefit to Nevada, job opportunities in the state and the best value to NV Energy's customers. All proposed projects must allow for a commercial operation date of Dec. 31, 2025.
