U.K. technology and service provider NTT Ltd. has broken ground on its Hemel Hempstead 4 data center near London, according to several news reports.
At full build-out the data center will have 9,600 square meters (103,333 square feet) of data center space and will support 24 megawatts of IT load, according to Broad Group.
The data center is scheduled to open at the end of 2021.
The latest data center is part of NTT’s £500 million ($667 million) expansion project in the United Kingdom. It will be located alongside five existing data centers in Hemel Hempstead and Slough and joins NTT’s other expansion project, London 1, which will open in fall.
NTT’s hub of data centers in London will represent more than 100 megawatts once fully completed.
“The U.K. is one of our fastest growing markets and we are pleased that the expansion in Hemel Hempstead will offer our clients additional space to support their digital business,” said Florian
