Norges Bank Investment Management, the fund-management division of the Norges Bank, confirmed it has committed €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) sixth flagship renewable-energy fund, CI VI.
CI VI will primarily invest in the generation and storage of renewable energy across Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries in North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
Norges Bank Investment Management previously committed €900 million ($1 billion) to CIP’s fifth flagship fund, CI V, in 2024. CI V exceeded its fund target with more than €12 billion ($13 billion) in total commitments when it closed in March 2025. The fund focuses on greenfield investments within large-scale renewable-energy infrastructure and has the largest project pipeline of any CIP fund to date.
