Nordion Energi has signed an agreement with E.ON Sverige to acquire E.ON’s shares in Kalmar Energi, corresponding to 50 percent of all shares in the company. Nordion Energi is thereby entering into a partnership with Kalmar Municipality, Sweden to continue to develop Kalmar Energi together. The partnership covers electricity grids, district heating and fiber. Siljansvik will become a new co-owner of the electricity-trading business together with the municipality.
Nordion Energi operates in the field of energy infrastructure. The company currently consists of the electricity grid operator Falbygdens Energi and the electricity grid and fiber operator Dala Energi, which are owned jointly with the municipalities of Rättvik, Leksand and Gagnef, as well as Siljansvik. The company is also a leading operator of gas infrastructure, and owns and operates transmission grid operator Swedegas and distribution network Weum.
