Niam’s infrastructure fund has secured additional large-scale solar projects under a framework agreement with Solkompaniet, a Swedish company specializing in large-scale solar.
Niam said the development portfolio currently consists of 300 megawatts, corresponding to a potential investment volume of SEK 2 billion ($190 million). Once commissioned, the solar parks could produce 300 gigawatt hours of electricity, corresponding to the electricity use of 72,000 households in central and southern Sweden — areas with electricity supply shortage.
The goal is to develop and build up to 500 megawatts of solar parks, together with Solkompaniet.
Since entering into the framework agreement in the spring of 2022, Niam has secured five large-scale solar projects with a combined potential of up to 300 megawatts.
