NextEnergy launches $100m solar platform, buys 100-MW New York portfolio

NextEnergy Capital has launched a $100 million platform to invest in community solar projects in the United States.

NextEnergy has also acquired a 100-megawatt portfolio of projects in New York state on behalf of its NextPower III fund. This marks the fund’s third acquisition in the United States.

NextPower III’s investment strategy is to acquire solar power plants at the ready-to-build status or in operation across high-growth international markets. The firm said the New York portfolio is expected to be fully constructed and operational within 18 months.
