New York State Common Retirement Fund puts $650m into KKR, Northleaf infra funds

The New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) committed $650 million to two infrastructure funds during the month of June.

The lion’s share of the investment — $500 million — went to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors IV (KKR Infra IV), managed by KKR. The fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of core/core-plus infrastructure assets, primarily domiciled in OECD countries. NYSCRF has an existing relationship with KKR.

The other investment of $150 million went to Northleaf Infrastructure Capital Partners (U.S.) III (NICP III), a closed-end fund managed by Northleaf Capital Partners. NICP III invests in middle-market infrastructure assets and companies domiciled in OECD countries. Northleaf is a new relationship for the NYSCRF.
