New Mexico fund earmarks $50m for Brookfield Infrastructure co-investment program

The $25.8 billion New Mexico State Investment Council (NMSIC) has approved a $50 million commitment to the Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV Co-Investment program, managed by Brookfield Asset Management.

The co-investment program targets renewable energy, transportation and utility assets across the globe. It raised $14.5 billion from 160 investors as of June, according to a filing with the SEC.

The investment follows an earlier $100 million commitment by NMSIC in the second quarter of 2019, according to a quarterly report of the pension fund’s real assets portfolio. The Teacher Retirement System of Texas also committed $300 million to
