Nature Infrastructure Capital (NIC), a private equity firm dedicated to accelerating the global energy transition, has joined Ara Partners, a global private equity and infrastructure firm focused on industrial decarbonization, in becoming a shareholder and co-investor in Anesco, a U.K.-based developer, installer, operator and optimizer of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Founded in 2010, Anesco develops, designs, constructs, maintains, operates and optimizes grid-scale renewable-energy assets. The company has delivered 1.3 gigawatts of solar and BESS projects across the United Kingdom, including building the country’s first subsidy-free solar farm and connecting the first utility-scale BESS system. Anesco manages a portfolio of more than 1.3 gigawatts of assets on behalf of investors.
