Morrison & Co. has launched a Zurich-based renewable energy platform known as Galileo Green Energy (GGE), designed to invest in the development of wind and solar photovoltaic energy projects and storage solutions across Europe.
The platform has already secured €220 million ($243 million) in capital commitments and locked in its first partnership with renewable energy developer EMPower. The two entities will jointly develop a 300-megawatt portfolio of greenfield wind farms in Ireland.
According to Morrison & Co., the fund will target some of Europe’s largest markets, including Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
