The world's largest source-grid-load-storage demonstration project is set to be built in Inner Mongolia.
The 3.1-gigawatt project is the largest wind-solar-storage hybrid project in China and is also the first renewable-energy power plant combined with a gigawatt-hour-scale energy-storage system.
The project includes 2.8 gigawatts for wind power, 300 megawatts for PV power and 1.76 million kilowatt hours for energy storage. The first phase of the project already has been connected to the grid.
JA Solar supplied all the modules for the 90,000-kilowatt PV portion.
