The Michigan Office of Retirement Services has committed $100 million to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors IV, a closed-end global infrastructure fund managed by KKR Alternative Investment Management.
KKR Global Infrastructure Investors IV will invest in oil and gas pipelines as well as renewable-energy projects and digital infrastructure.
The fund held a first close in August with $14.2 billion in equity commitments, surpassing its initial $12 billion fundraising target. The capital raise brought Fund IV to nearly twice the size of its predecessor fund, making it the largest in the entire fund series, by far.
The fund’s predecessor, KKR Global Infrastructure Investors III, raised $7.4 billion and closed in 2018, and KKR Global Infrastructure Investors II and KKR Global Infrastructure Fund raised $3.1 billion and $1 billion, respectively.
