Mexico’s government has plans to spend $44.3 billion as part of the first phase in its infrastructure plan, covering 147 projects in a wide range of transportation and other public works projects over five years.
The top sectors covered by the plan are transportation, tourism and telecommunications.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said a second phase of infrastructure projects will be announced in January and will focus primarily on the energy sector. López Obrador is seeking to reboot the Mexican economy.
