French global investor and asset manager Meridiam has been awarded the first social public private partnership in Finland, the firm announced Oct. 15.
The 22-year concession project includes the design, build, financing and maintenance of five schools and three daycare centers, serving more than 4,000 students, in Espoo, the second-largest city in Finland.
The project is expected to contribute 15 percent of the city’s needs for healthy and functional schools and daycare centers and follows Meridiam’s commitment to build sustainable social infrastructure.
The financial close is expected in June 2020, following the approval of building permits, and the first schools are slated for completion in 2022.
