Massachusetts Water pension fund searches for private energy manager

by Zoë Wolff

The Massachusetts Water Resource Authority Employees’ Retirement System is looking for a private energy fund manager. Investment consultant NEPC is aiding in the search; a statement was released on its website June 29.

The $456 million pension fund plans to commit up to $5 million to the manager during the remainder of 2015. The manager must be raising at least $250 million and the fund’s final close may not be before Dec. 31.

An RFP is available on the NECP website, and proposals are due by July 24.
