Massachusetts-based pension searches for infrastructure managers

by Jody Barhanovich

The $290 million City of Quincy (Mass.) Contributory Retirement System is searching for managers of core and noncore private market infrastructure strategies. More specifically, the pension plan seeks a manager with a demonstrated ability to manage a $6 million diversified strategy that invests in private market global infrastructure investments.

Only proposals for experienced managers of core and noncore private market infrastructure portfolios will be considered. First-time funds, public equity and sector-specific strategies will not be considered. Responding firms must have been in operation for at least three years and have managed one or more core or noncore global infrastructure strategies with total equity capital exceeding $500 million as of Dec. 31, 2016.

Meketa Investment Group, the pension fund’s investment consultant is assisting with the search. The RFP is available on Meketa’s website. Proposals are due March 24. A selection date was not disclosed.
