Mariana Silva was named head of the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF), a G20 initiative established to address the shortage of high-quality, bankable sustainable infrastructure projects in emerging markets. Her appointment will go into effect Sept. 1.
A seasoned infrastructure finance professional with experience across investment banking and multilateral development institutions, Silva brings extensive expertise in project finance, public-private partnerships, transaction structuring and private capital mobilization. Since joining GIF in 2021, she has played a key role in advancing the platform’s efforts to strengthen project preparation and mobilize private investment for infrastructure in emerging markets.
