Manulife Investments makes portfolio manager change to two funds

by Jody Barhanovich

Manulife Investments has made changes to its Manulife Global Infrastructure Fund and Manulife Global Infrastructure Class. The funds are subadvised by Brookfield Public Securities Group (Brookfield PSG, formerly known as Brookfield Investment Management Inc.):

  • Craig Noble has been promoted to CEO, Alternative Investments at Brookfield Asset Management (Brookfield) and will step down as portfolio manager of the funds prior to the end of the third quarter.
  • Effective immediately, Tom Miller has been promoted as co-portfolio manager of the funds.
  • Leonardo Anguiano will continue in his role as co-portfolio manager of the funds.

Noble’s new role at Brookfield will include oversight of the broader alternative investments business of Brookfield. This expanded role will allow him to continue to oversee Brookfield PSG. He will also stay involved in the infrastructure investment process from an investment committee perspective, providing the same macro support that he has provided for the past several years.

Miller has nine years of industry experience and is a director on Brookfield PSG’s Infrastructure Securities team. Miller has been a co-portfolio manager on other infrastructure strategies at Brookfield PSG for the past several years. Before focusing on his portfolio manager duties, he was responsible for covering North American infrastructure securities focusing on MLPs and the energy infrastructure sector. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he worked at FactSet. Miller holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University.

Anguiano has 21 years of experience and is a portfolio manager on Brookfield PSG’s Infrastructure Securities team. Before focusing on his portfolio manager duties, he was responsible for covering European infrastructure securities focusing on the water, transportation and energy infrastructure sectors. Anguiano's past experience includes both direct and listed infrastructure investing. He earned a Master of Philosophy degree from Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the London School of Economics.

Manulife Investments, a division of Manulife Asset Management Limited, is part of Manulife, an international financial services group for Canadian investors.
