Manor Renewable Energy acquires OPUS Marine

by Kali Persall

Manor Renewable Energy (MRE), a U.K.-based company with a focus on integrated project solutions for the offshore wind sector, has acquired OPUS Marine, a German crew transfer vessel (CTV) owner and operator. Financial terms were not disclosed.

A major CTV operator to the offshore wind industry, OPUS Marine has a fleet of CTVs in Germany and Taiwan. The acquisition will double MRE’s fleet from eight to 16 CTVs.

“With the acquisition of OPUS, we gain a strong foothold in the German and Baltic markets together with facilitating our aspirations in Asia,” said Eric Briar, CEO of MRE. “The increase in fleet size is significant, with proven vessels of a low average age. We are looking forward to utilizing the vessels on temporary power projects alongside commissioning and O&M scopes for our clients.”

The acquisition of OPUS has been formalized, and a process of integrating the companies will now begin.
