Maine PERS considers $300m investment in Meridiam Infrastructure

The Maine Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) is considering a $300 million commitment to Meridiam Infrastructure North America Core Infrastructure Fund (MINA CIF), according to meeting materials.

This fund combines certain Meridiam Infrastructure assets with all Meridiam Infrastructure North America II assets into MINA CIF to provide value creation with a strong expected total return and cash flow profile, according to materials. Meridiam Infrastructure is a global infrastructure investment firm that specializes in the long-term management of sustainable public infrastructure projects.

Maine PERS has committed a total of $364 million to Meridiam Infrastructure since 2012. As of June 30, the public pension fund had $22.8 billion in total assets under management. As of June 30, 2024, Maine PERS had a 10 percent infrastructure allocation target and $2.4 billion in total infrastructure assets.
