Macquarie’s Green Investments Group (GIG) and Green Wind Renewables (GWR) have teamed up to develop a 2.4-gigawatt portfolio of large-scale wind-farm projects in Western Australia.
The onshore-wind projects are in the early stage of development and have land agreements secured with landowners. They will be subject to detailed community and stakeholder consultation processes as the developments proceed.
The projects, which will be connected to the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS), establish a well located and diversified portfolio in high wind-resource areas, said Macquarie. The firm said future projects may be incorporated into the joint venture to enable the portfolio to continue to grow in line with increasing demand for renewable energy.
