Macquarie joins in Cape Hardy port development in Australia

Macquarie Capital, Iron Road and the Eyre Peninsula Co-operative Bulk Handling (EPCBH)  have formed a partnership to advance development and financing plans for the proposed A$250 million ($177 million) Cape Hardy Stage 1 multi-user, multi-commodity port facility, according to Mining Weekly.

The companies will look to establish a project vehicle and commence stage one of the development plan. The project will target a financial close by the third quarter of 2021.

In March, EPCBH said it was actively pursuing preferred funding sources to fulfil a minimum A$20 million ($14 million) equity investment aspiration in Cape Hardy. Iron Road has been working closely with key stakeholders on the port development since 2012 as part of the wider Central Eyre iron project.
