Longroad Energy has broken ground on four distributed solar projects in Maine. The projects have been under development by Longroad for over two years.
The projects will have a combined capacity of 26 megawatts dc and will generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 5,200 homes annually. Construction is expected to take about six months and will wrap up by the end of 2021.
Upon completion, the projects are expected to generate significant benefits for Bath Iron Works and Walmart, according to Matt Kearns, chief development officer of Longroad Energy.
In addition to these projects, Longroad has 14 other distributed solar projects under development in Maine.
MUFG served as lender and U.S. Bank as the tax equity investor for the four projects.
