Lightsource bp sells 50MW solar farm and colocated energy storage project to Schroders Greencoat

Lightsource bp, a company specializing in the development and operation of solar-energy projects, completed its largest U.K. solar project to date and subsequently sold the solar farm and colocated energy-storage project to Schroders Greencoat.

Tiln Farm is a 49.9-megawatt ac solar project located near Retford in Nottinghamshire, England. It is providing power to building products manufacturer Forterra via a long-term power-purchase agreement (PPA). Tiln Farm solar will provide the brick, block and concrete producer with about 70 percent of its electricity needs in a sector-leading investment that will provide renewable energy to Forterra’s 17 sites for 15 years.

Construction on the project, the first Lightsource bp project globally to be co-located with energy storage, began in 2022. There also is a 25-megawatt/50-megawatt-hour (two-hour duration) battery operational onsite.
