by Kali Persall

Liberum Navitas is planning to roll out an expansive data center network across Russia, targeted at government agencies and commercial enterprises, according to multiple news sources.

The 15 facilities will be located in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Sevastopol, Sochi, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Tyumen, Novy Urengoy, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok.

All 15 sites will be interconnected by a single fiber line, crossing more than 7,000 kilometers (4,349 miles) of Russian terrain.

Liberum Navitas and its partners are planning to invest about 10 percent of the $686.2 million project cost, while the rest of the proceeds will be raised from national and overseas venture capital investors.
