KKR to purchase 1,100 wireless towers from Tigo Colombia

KKR, working in partnership with NEXO LatAm, a digital-infrastructure platform that supports the implementation of KKR’s infrastructure strategy throughout Latin America, is planning to acquire 1,100 wireless communications towers from Tigo Colombia.

Tigo Colombia is a subsidiary of Millicom, a provider of fixed- and mobile-telecommunications services in Latin America.

As part of the transaction, Tigo Colombia and KKR have entered into a long-term agreement whereby KKR will lease wireless-communications towers to Tigo Colombia to support its wireless networks. The exact number of towers will be determined after the various closings, which are subject to customary conditions.

As of Sept. 30, 2023, Millicom provided mobile and fiber-cable services to more than 45 million customers through its digital highways and had a fiber-cable footprint of more than 13 million homes.
